Notes for Transcendental Buffoonery
The title of this chapter was stolen from Haroldo de Campos’ interpretation of Faust, in which the second section is titled ‘Bufoneria Transcendental: O Riso das Estrelas’ (‘Transcendental Buffoonery: The Stars’ Laughter’), translated into English by Else Ribeiro Pires Vieira. Her article discussing the work of the Brazilian poet, critic, and transcreator de Campos (1929-2003), is the source of the quote and is cited below. And It is highly recommended ("mind-blowing", "how cool is that!" "why didn't we write that?") by members of the Gooble-Gabble colony.
